It is known that resveratrol is absorbed in the stomach after ingestion and is rapidly metabolized. During the metabolic process, it becomes glucuronide and sulfate conjugates, but by converting those metabolites back to resveratrol for quantification, the amount of resveratrol absorbed can be calculated.
